Based in Washington, D.C., the American Institute of Architects (AIA) has been the leading professional non-profit membership association through it’s National, State, and over 200 local chapters for licensed architects, emerging professionals, and allied partners since 1857. Through education, legislative and regulatory development, professional education, and research, the AIA and its more than 90,000 members express their commitment to excellence in design and livability in our nation’s buildings and communities.
The AIA Orange County (AIAOC) chapter was established in 1952 to service the local design profession and advocate for the design and well-being of our local communities. AIAOC delivers value to its members and communities through advocacy, mentorship, programming, and education. A yearly look at AIAOC includes the following:
A student design competition for local community colleges to assist students advancement to accredited Schools of Architecture
Over 100 educational programs
Study groups and mentorship to assist in the advancement to licensure
